“Accounting is the language of business” - Warren Buffett

“If you’re going to have and run a business, if you don’t understand accounting, you’re already behind the eight ball.” - Mark Cuban

Above are quotes from two of the most respected businessmen in the world. Both realize how important accounting is to any business. But why? It’s simple - running a business is not just about selling a product. Businesses are held accountable to many external stakeholders, not just themselves. These stakeholders including employees, customers, shareholders, regulatory authorities, and many others.

Without having a deep insight into your business, and as such, into your financials, you, the business owner, will not be able to make sound financial decisions about your company. This in turn, will manifest into not providing best in class service to all stakeholders in your company.
